Happy memories from Indian Maths Tour #3

My 2020 vision is to relaunch Indian maths based on the writings of Āryabhaṭa, Bhāskara and Brahmagupta. You can download my slides free from www.j.mp/IndiasMaths

To get feedback n my work to date, last month I gave lectures in six states of India: West Bengal, Bihar, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. I also gave a lecture on the superiority of the ancient maths of the Indian subcontinent in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Everywhere I went I received great feedback from both students and teachers who began to understand the maths of zero, positive numbers and negative numbers for the first time. I spoke on the mathematical laws of India and Brahmagupta at the following places.

Patna Science College Patna University

INTACH New Delhi (Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage)

Ananda Ashram Balika Vidyapeeth High School in Kolkata

AIMER Maths Education Conference, Indore

Gate College Kathmandu Nepal

TIME2019 mathematics education conference organised by Prof. Inder K. Rana and the Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (COESME), at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune India.

Sri Prakash School Peddapurum Andhra Pradesh

Sri Prakash School Vidyaniketan

I was also interviewed by the Center for Soft Power. You can read the interview at https://www.softpowermag.com/india-explains-zero-and-math-better-than-the-west/

  1. Dear Mr Crabtree
i have gone through your work on Indian Mathematics specially for the children. we have a philanthropic organisation which work for the education for underprivileged and orphan children. I would like to implement your innovative system of mathematics among these children and improve their mathematical skill . How can we be associated with you to initiate this process, please advice.
    Thanks & Best Regards
